Differences between original and replicated vehicle

Dimensionally the Factory Five Cobra Replica is an exacting replica of the original car.  The body was molded from digital scans of two original 1965 Cobras, namely CSX3035 (images attached here) and CSX3042. The minor dimensional difference (1") in height is due to the windshield angle. The minor difference in width (2") is due to modern DOT wheels and fender flares to accommodate. The minor difference in length (2") is due to improved bumper design.

The safety differences between the modern Factory Five Cobra Replica and the original 1965 Ford/Shelby Cobra related to dimensional changes include:

DOT headlights, taillights an turn signals for lumens and off set tests
DOT safety glass
DOT wheels and tires (original car had knock off wheel design and bias ply non-street legal tires).
Stronger CAD designed chassis with crumple zones F/R (original car had none) and side impact bars in doors (original car had none)

Other engineering changes to improve safety (not directly related to minor dimensional body changes) include:

modern suspension, brakes, and steering far safer and superior to original parts/design.
GPS calibrated gauges for accuracy (original car gauges were not accurate)
Modern DOT fuel tank with plastic debris shield, roll-over flapper valve and sealed threaded gas cap and inertia fuel pump cut-off switch (original cars had none of this)
Collapsible steering column design superior and safer than original car.
DOT complaint flame resistant seating and interior materails.
